How to Hide Phone Number on Telegram

You enter your phone number when you want to register on Telegram. But after that, you basically don't need a phone number anymore to use Telegram.

To add a contact in Telegram, there are two ways: first by entering a phone number (either manually or from a contact you have); or through a username (similar to Twitter or Instagram).

So if you prefer to use a username when using Telegram (to join groups, channels, etc.), then you can hide the phone number on Telegram if you want.

Of course, this can increase your privacy when using Telegram by not displaying personal numbers to other users.

Hide Phone Number in Telegram.

• Open Telegram.
• Tap the Settings option in the lower right corner.
• Tap the Privacy and Security option.
• Tap the Phone Number option.
• Tap the Nobody option, then tap the My Contacts option. That way, only people on your contact list can contact you via a number.
