To increase security, you can lock the WhatsApp app with Face ID (for iPhone X series and above) or Touch ID (for iPhone X series and below and SE 2020).
So, if you have a secret conversation and you don't want anyone to read it when you borrow your iPhone, you can lock it with Face ID or Touch ID.

Lock WhatsApp on iPhone
- Open the WhatsApp application.
- Tap Settings in the bottom right corner.
- Press the Account option.
- Tap the Privacy option.
- Tap the Screen lock option.
- Tap (On) on the Require Face ID / Touch ID option.
- Then select the required delay time before WhatsApp automatically locks.
