How to Collaborate with Others by Sharing iCloud Drive Folders on Your iPhone

How to Collaborate with Others by Sharing iCloud Drive Folders on Your iPhone - One of the advantages of using iCloud Drive on your iPhone is that you can store and access your files across all your devices, such as your iPad, Mac, or PC.

You can also share your files with other people, and work together on them in real time. This can be useful for various purposes, such as:

  • Sharing photos and videos with your family and friends.
  • Working on a project or a document with your colleagues or classmates.
  • Sending files to someone without using email attachments or other apps.
  • Backing up your important files and keeping them safe.

However, until iOS 13.4, you could only share individual files from iCloud Drive, and not entire folders.

This means that if you wanted to share multiple files, you had to do it one by one, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient.

Moreover, if you wanted to share a folder that contains subfolders, you had to share each subfolder separately, which can be confusing and messy.

Fortunately, since iOS 13.4, Apple has added the ability to share folders from iCloud Drive, which makes it much easier and faster to share multiple files at once.

You can also share folders that contain subfolders, and keep the folder structure intact.

You can also control who can access the folder, and what they can do with it, such as editing or viewing only.

You can also see who is sharing the folder with you, and who has made changes to it.

In this article, we will show you how to share iCloud Drive folders on your iPhone, and how to manage the shared folders and their permissions.

  • Tap on the Share Options button. You will see two categories: Who Can Access and Permission.

In the Who Can Access category, you can choose who can access the folder. You have two options: Only People You Invite or Anyone with the Link.

You can also set a password for the folder if you want to add an extra layer of security.

In the Permission category, you can choose what the people who access the folder can do with it. You have two options: Can Make Changes or View Only.

The first option means that the people who access the folder can edit, delete, or add files to the folder.

The second option means that the people who access the folder can only view the files, but not modify them.

After you have set the sharing options, tap on the Back button. You will see the Add People menu again, where you can choose how to send the invitation or the link to the folder.

You can use any app that you want, such as Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or Copy Link. You can also add a message or a note to the invitation or the link if you want to.

Tap on the Send or Post button, depending on the app that you are using. You will see a confirmation message that the folder has been shared.

That’s it. You have successfully shared an iCloud Drive folder on your iPhone. Now, the people who have access to the folder can open it and see the files inside it.

They can also edit or view the files, depending on the permission that you have given them. You can also see who is sharing the folder with you, and who has made changes to it, by opening the folder and tapping on the Share button.

You can also stop sharing the folder, or change the sharing options, by tapping on the Share button and choosing the appropriate option.
